JDE Orchestrator studio is being underutilized! Is your organization guilty of this?

JD Edwards has made great strides in modernizing functionality, but we hear grumblings that make the system sound antiquated. While JDE has been constantly enhancing the software, there is a lack of businesses keeping up with learning or even just being educated on what are the newest technologies available to them.

One of our senior consultants was recently working on an issue with a power user and explained how Orchestrator could automate a solution.  The power user had no idea Orchestrator had that functionality and was pleasantly surprised.  Our consultant explained, “This is a common issue with many organizations, the IT team may know what Orchestrator can do, but the business users do not”.  So, why are more people not using Orchestrator Studio? We have the “Orchestrator Studio catch 22”:

The IT team may know what it does, but they are waiting for the business to request a use case where they can put Orchestrator to work.  The users on the other hand don’t know what Orchestrator functionality entails or what it is capable of, so they don’t know to request items that can benefit from Orchestrator or even think to imagine what it can help with.  Therefore, Orchestrator gets underutilized and users get frustrated with their system.

So, we have a disconnect…

While Orchestrator can be used by developers the tool is NOT only a tool for developers it is created for power users to create automations and integrations that previously would have needed a JD Edwards developer.
