WebLogic is an online transaction platform (OLTP) that facilitates the integration of individual applications and their respective data. It is based on the Java 2 Platform Enterprise Edition (J2EE), which allows for a more rapid development cycle as many features such as system-level tasks are reusable.
Oracle WebLogic Platform includes: Integration, Workshop, and Portal, which is a framework for create a shared point of access for professionals. Portal is a secure, personalized, web-based interface for users to receive and post information. An advantage of Portals are its connectivity and integration with other systems; thus, information can be routinely updated by various sources, all conforming and customized to the users' preferences.
